4 days in Miami

Shop this look

For my birthday a couple weeks ago, the husband and I ran off to Miami for a long weekend escape. We hadn’t been to Miami for about 4 years so we were pretty unsure of where to stay and if we still wanted to do the whole South Beach thing. After some research we decided to stay at The Miami Beach EDITION. It had a more chill vibe than most of the other South Beach hotels which was just what we wanted. So if you’re looking for a laid back luxe vibe this is the hotel for you. The highlights for us were the breakfast at The Market and the beautiful modern rooms. But if I’m being completely honest… we fell in love with another hotel during our stay.  Scroll down to see the hotel we were obsessed with and all the places and restaurants we hung out at…

Those famous walls…

You can’t go to Miami without stopping at the Wynwood Walls area. And it’s not just walls! There are restaurants, shops, and some of the best popsicles I’ve ever had. We weren’t even going to go but I’m so glad we did!

My new favorite hotel award goes to… Faena Miami

As for the hotel we fell for… okay, we were OBSESSED with the Faena. Located a quick walk north of our hotel I would describe it as a true luxury resort… but with a twist. It’s actually becoming its own district which will be known for art, gastronomy, and entertainment. And I have to mention that I had the BEST tuna tartare of my life there. Even if you don’t stay there, it’s worth checking out The Living Room for a late night drink and live entertainment.

And if you’re going to spend time in a spa…

Faena Spa, Tierra Santa Healing House

The Tierra Santa Spa is a DREAM! Besides featuring this heavenly Hammam above, the spa has the most darling boutique filled with Carolina K pieces. (I just love her designs!)

But let’s not forget about food and drinks!

So here’s a quick round up of where we went…

Drinks at sunset — The Standard, hands down, just go.

Hipster Heaven — Freehand Miami (Yes it’s a hostel BUT it was the best meal we had on our trip. Great vibe! Go early for drinks by the pool then stay for dinner.)

The Villa Casa Casuarina (the Versace Mansion) — WARNING: YOU CAN ONLY SEE THE POOL IF YOU HAVE DINNER RESERVATIONS. I called ahead to make reservations for dessert and drinks thinking that we could sit by the pool. After we arrived we were told that only dinner guests were allowed in the restaurant. So we had to sit out in the bar and honestly I was completely bummed. I’ve heard the food is good so it’s worth a shot if you want to see the legendary pool as much as I did…

Brunch — So there are a ton of amazing brunch spots but I was craving shakshuka and after a google search I came across Fooq. It’s basically a foodie paradise with a side of pancakes. (I always get cranky when restaurants don’t have pancakes for brunch, but they did!)

Touristy but good views — Juvia (the food was ok, but go late for the dj and city views)

And to see MORE of what I wore in Miami Beach check out this two piece set (and swimsuit) along with this side cut out dress and this yellow ruffle dress that’s been so popular on Instagram!
