It’s almost the 4th of July and hopefully THIS YEAR you’ll get to gather (in person!) with family and friends. Personally, I’m looking forward to celebrating by getting Nico in the pool and grilling out. Because if you’re like me, the holidays are all about eating something delicious! So let me share with you an easy pizza hack to try this July 4th.

Summer time pizza hack

While most people enjoy hotdogs and hamburgers on the 4th, I’m not one of them. (I know I’m weird.) I tend to gravitate toward all the sides. I love chips and guac, crudités, or a cheese board. And speaking of cheese, if I had my pick I would have pizza on the 4th! Since I LOVE a good pizza I wanted to share an easy hack to make it even more delicious. If you’re wanting to upgrade your at home pizza, then try cooking it on the grill. And if you don’t have one just try an iron skillet. Both will give you crust like your favorite pizzaria. And if you’re in a real hurry, buy pre-made dough or even a frozen pizza. It really works to give you crusty restaurant style crust.

Fake a brick oven

To create a brick oven at home try this. Just stack a few bricks on the grill and put a pizza stone on top. This will let the heat circulate around the pizza and allow the crust and toppings to finish cooking at the same time. I haven’t tried it but can’t wait to!

Our plans this July 4th

There’s nothing better than fresh grilled corn.

As for our 4th, we’ll keep it simple and probably spend it in my in-law’s pool. And to keep it even simpler we’ll do our shopping via Walmart’s Online Pickup & Delivery. Because who has time to grocery shop with a 10 month old?

Walmart

To keep our kitchen stocked with fresh fruits and veggies, I typically place an order once a week. (Like this produce for baby food.) And this time of the year it’s a lot of fresh corn for grilling and berries so that I can make a crumble. (Blueberry crumble is my favorite!) Most of the time Gran will go pick it up or if it’s one of those crazy days, we’ll just have it delivered!* (A small delivery fee applies and $35 minimum order is required.)

Have you tried this pizza hack? Let me know, along with what you’re doing for the 4th!
