Even though today is the 6th, I feel like it’s the first day of the year. Most of you all are back to work and back to your routine. For me I’m excited for the new year. My motto for 2020 is to look forward… to looking FORWARD. As someone who generally likes to play it safe, never make plans, and “see what happens” , I’m trying to throw all this out and take a flying leap… into the new year. New challenges, I’m ready for ya. Scary decisions, I’m making them. So 2020 let’s do this!
get rid of it
You don’t like it, you don’t need it. That includes things, habits, and even people. If it doesn’t serve you then get rid of it! For me this meant spending the weekend cleaning out my closet and getting organized. (Check out my Poshmark account.)
do it… N O W
I’m extremely guilty of waiting til the last minute to do things. Procrastination is my middle name. (And it probably should be my first!) But this year I’m trying to do things asap. It’s a new challenge to myself. So if there’s something I’ve been wanting to do (like the clothing capsule) then I’m going to do it… NOW!
Take up a hobby, learn about something you’ve always wanted to do, take adult education classes, or start a sport again. (I would love to play league tennis again.)
Miss old friends? Call them. Love drawing? Get a sketchbook. Forgot what brings you joy? Then make time to reconnect… with yourself. I know that sounds like a self-help book but in this day and age we are soooo disconnected with ourselves and each other. I basically turned off my phone this weekend and forgot what that felt like. Isn’t that sad?! This year I’m going to *try* to make it a habit. For at least a couple hours a week, disconnect… so we can all RECONNECT.
