Our special weekend getaway /// Adolphus Hotel Photo Diary

I love Dallas. It’s an easy drive from Oklahoma City and fun city for a quick getaway. Growing up my Mom, Gran, and I loved shopping there. And now it’s where R and I love to go for a mini vacation. So you may remember from my Instagram that a couple weekends ago we booked a very special stay at the Adolphus Hotel

The Adolphus Hotel is an upscale 1912 hotel located in downtown Dallas and conveniently only steps away from the original Neiman Marcus. (I love that store!) I remember staying there as a child and made even more memories on this weekend. Scroll below to see why this weekend was so special for us… along with my wedding dress!

Why the Adolphus is special for us…

When R planned his proposal to me, he planned a very special meal at The French Room… and didn’t propose. It was an elaborate set up to throw me off. (He ended up proposing on top of a building in Dallas the next day!) Below is our dinner the day before and then us recreating that dinner on our trip 8 years later…

And another thing that’s special about the dinner… I’m wearing my wedding dress! We had a tiny courthouse wedding but I still wanted a dress that was something I would always love and want to wear. When I found this Alexander McQueen dress I knew it was the one! It’s still one of my favorite because it’s just so me — structured sleeves and all.

Thank you to The Adolphus for such a special stay. We love making memories at your hotel! XO
