blush linen dress + beginning of summer

Shop this look

This weekend felt like summer, even though it wasn’t. Memorial Day weekend is basically the kick off to summer for most of us. Or at least the weather makes it feel that way!

For me, the beginning of summer always starts with little changes. I trade my usual pjs for lighter ones. I order iced coffee instead of drinking it hot. And I’ll put away my Ugg slippers and instead walk around the house with bare feet. And all of a sudden all I want to drink is lemonade. Oh, how I LOVE lemonade.

(For a low-cal lemonade I drink this one from Trader Joe’s and mix it with club soda — so refreshing and it’s only around 40 calories.)

But most importantly, I trade my denim for dresses. During the hot months just give me all the dresses! I kept seeing this Topshop blush linen dress on Instagram and finally ordered it just to discover that the reviews online were correct… the fit is WEIRD. It has a very strange and small sizing. I’m not going to lie… this dress was the THIRD one I ordered.  After sizing up (twice) I find found one that fit. I just really wanted it to work because I had been looking for a blush linen dress and loved the sleeves on this one.

If you love it too, READ THE BOTTOM of this post for all the sizing info and to see what sizes it comes in. Admittedly it was kind of a pain to make this dress work but I think it was worth it…

This bag always gets a ton of attention… and mostly from guys. They always stop me to let me know how much they like it! Well most of them do… my husband finds it weird. Let’s just say he’s not exactly a fan of it, or Cult Gaia, but what does he know haha.

Style note — This Topshop blush linen dress runs EXTREMELY SMALL. Like very, very small… especially across the chest. I’m wearing the US size 6 and normally would wear a 0/2 in Topshop but not in this dress. So order accordingly!
