AiW’s quick Las Vegas guide (plus what I wore)

When I’m in desperate need of a quick getaway there’s always one place that makes me forget all my problems… Viva Las Vegas!

Even though I barely gamble (and R doesn’t at all) we love a long weekend in Vegas.  This last trip wasn’t our craziest since R was still getting over the flu but we still had a great time.  Here’s quick look at our trip, my Las Vegas outfits, and my favorite places on the strip.

gold one shoulder ruffle top, Palazzo

Venetian + Palazzo – Both are great places to stay but I would say I prefer Palazzo more.  Keep scrolling to see which restaurant is my favorite and located here…

Parasol Down Umbrellas

Parasol Down (Wynn Hotel) – Stop in for a drink while you watch the ceiling mounted parasols go up and down or head outside to enjoy a view of their 40-foot waterfall.  I had to stop and have some champagne of course!  (And ps. Wynn/Encore is my favorite place to stay in Vegas!)

Bellagio fountains

Bellagio Shops (The Bellagio Hotel) – Their Chanel is my favorite one on the strip… and also the largest I think.  Also check out the gorgeous flowers they always have on display.

lace dress Las Vegas

Wore this dress before we had dinner at Bouchon.  Word of advice, go off your diet and order the Steak Frites for a classic French bistro meal.  (I love it and I NEVER eat steak!)   See more here.

More of AiW favorites include…

Il Mulino New York (The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace) – Our favorite Italian restaurant in Las Vegas and NYC. And I always look forward to the complimentary Grappa cordial after our meal. Try the in house Fig Grappa if available.

Lotus of Siam, original location (620 E Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89119) – Off the Strip and not fancy at all but this Thai restaurant is a Las Vegas institution. Great wine selection and the mango sticky rice is a MUST for dessert.

Joel Robuchon (The MGM Gand Las Vegas) – A once in a lifetime dining event… no seriously, you’ll be broke afterwards.  But if you’re a foodie you must go and I suggest going to L’Atelier next door.  You actually get to see them create your food.  (When we were there Joel Robuchon was actually at the table next to us!)

Lago by Julian Serrano (The Bellagio Hotel) – Super chic eatery and the best place to watch the amazing Bellagio Fountain show.  Arrive around 5:00 pm to get a good spot.

Momofukou Las Vegas + Milk Bar Las Vegas (The Cosmopolitan Hotel) – I LIVE for the B’Day Truffles!

The Mandarin Bar (The Mandarin Oriental Hotel) – An elegant and subdued bar with a great view of the stip. Be sure to make a reservation on the weekends.

The Tea Lounge (Mandarin Oriental Hotel) – If you love the thought of High Tea, then this is completely charming and delicious.

Skyfall Lounge (Delano Hotel) – Offering incredible views of Las Vegas, this gorgeous bar is a great place to start or end an evening.

Jardin (Wynn Encore Hotel) – A quiet little spot in the Encore that we love to frequent for champagne and resting of feet.

Wynn Spa and Encore Spa (The Wynn & Encore Hotel) – Extravagant surroundings make these spas an unforgettable experience.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental (The Mandarin Oriental Hotel) – Great service and amenities in a quiet and relaxing setting.

The Spa at Aria (The Aria Hotel) – The only co-ed spa we’ve found in Las Vegas.  Great for couples or groups of friends.

Best Shopping

The Forum Shops at Caesars (The Caesars Palace Hotel) – Who doesn’t enjoy shopping high-end brands on the street of Rome… indoors and in Vegas.

Barneys New York (The Venetian Hotel) – I always love peeking in for a look.

Wynn + Encore – The best luxury fashion all under one roof.

Shops at Crystals (City Center) – The most modern shopping experience on the strip.
