ruffle maxi dress + the key to packing for a weekend away

What a weekend…  and let me say it was just as amazing as this darling ruffle maxi dress

As many of you already know, I had a crazy weekend (that I’ll share with you later) but it was basically filled with meetings, cocktails, and plenty of parties.  I was changing my outfit almost 3 times a day!  So what’s my key to packing for a fun weekend… dresses.  Always pack dresses!

Pieces like this red ruffle maxi dress can be worn casually with espadrilles for brunch and then dressed up with sexy strappy sandals and bold earrings for dinner.  The reason I LOVE packing dresses so much is how easy they make traveling.  Just pack several dresses, along with your accessories, and you will be shocked at how much lighter your bag will be.

Before my trip, I shopped for several dresses at Nordstrom and ordered the ruffle maxi dress you see here, along with an off-the-shoulder dress you might have noticed on my Instagram Stories.  There were so many to choose from, it was hard to decide!

Instead of a suitcase, I’ve also learned that the easiest way to travel with multiple dresses is to pack them all in a single garment bag.  I’ve been using an old one I’ve had for years but I am currently shopping for a new one.  (I especially love this garment bag which comes on wheels.)  It’s so amazing to get to your hotel and simply unzip and hang up your bag – done.  Your clothes also tend to arrive less wrinkled.   Trust me, it’s a game changer!

So are you a dress girl too?  I just can’t have enough of them!

Giving a big thank you to Nordstrom for partnering with AiW on this post!
