My hometown of Oklahoma City is currently undergoing a wonderful revitalization.  It’s a joy to walk around discovering all the new parts our city is adding.  Just keep in mind before heading out, to check the forecast.  Oklahoma has a reputation for unpredictable weather, so when it comes to periods of meteorological insanity, it’s important to plan your outfit.

On that note, I am SO EXCITED to be representing Oklahoma for Old Navy and People Magazine’s#50styles50states campaign.  Read below to see how my state affects my style, and how you can join in and share your own unique state style!

Only in Oklahoma can you expect a summer-like morning and afternoon, followed by snowflakes on your 5 pm drive home.  So how do I plan an outfit under these conditions?  I’m all about the layers! Most days I love the ease of a dress, like this one from Old Navy – it’s easy to layer on a scarfsweater, or jacket.  I usually carry a tote to help me stylishly-stow all those layers when I don’t need them.

Planning a trip to Oklahoma City? Be sure to check out some of my favorite areas as shown above, including the Myriad Botanical Gardens, pretty much all of downtown OKC, and the up-and-coming Wheeler district. It’s now home to the Ferris wheel from the Santa Monica Pier. These areas, along with so many new and tasty restaurants make living here so much fun!
