Yesterday I saw a school bus full of kids which always makes me giddy. No I’m not a mom, it is just the first sign that fall is almost here! And I can’t wait because it’s my favorite time of year.
Every year before school started, my mom, gran, and I would always mark the occasion with a shop till you drop trip to Dallas or Houston. While my school days are over, I still find myself in the mood for a little ‘back to work’ shopping come August. Add fall fashion to the mix and it’s a great time to hunt down some pieces for those cooler days ahead.

Now finding pieces that are both work friendly yet fashionable enough to wear off the job can be a bit difficult. So when I found this dress I just thought it was the best of both worlds! You all know I’m no stranger to a shirtdress, and I love the detailing on this one from Banana Republic. While it’s professional enough for work, I knew it would look just as cute with my Superstars on the weekends. (Yes, I’ve slowly become a sneaker girl, can you believe it?!)
