On my recent trip to New York City, I just happened to stumble upon the charming Holiday Shops in Bryant Park.  I spent a lovely afternoon strolling through the shops, which I luckily got to experience because my hotel was located so close by.  When I returned home to Oklahoma City, I was excited to go see our very own holiday shops downtown.

The Winter Shoppes at Myriad Gardens are in their third year of operation on the grounds of the historic Myriad Gardens.  They offer a wonderful collection of local boutique vendors selling a wide range of products (clothing, toys, decor, CHOCOLATE) at all price points.  All the holiday splendor is in full celebration with darling and festive decorations.  There are plenty of activities for the kiddos too!  When you’re shopping let them go enjoy the Devon Ice Skating rink nearby or go for a ride on the vintage Carousel.

But what are the holidays without food?  While shopping, you can enjoy the many food trucks that are regularly stationed alongside the grounds.  All the participating vendors have brought their best local goodies from in and around the metro.  A particular favorite of mine is the divine hot chocolate from Katiebug’s Shaved Ice and Hot Chocolate, especially their Paris after dark hot chocolate and coffee drink.  It’s Christmas in a cup!

The Winter Shoppes are now open Thursday through Sunday from 11am to 6pm, with the carousel running until 8pm on Friday through Saturday.  The shops only last until the 20th of December, so don’t wait to head downtown and enjoy our very own winter wonderland.
