With the wonderful time we were having at the The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch we almost didn’t want to leave.  But being my first time in Vail, I just knew I had to go check out the charming town.  So after hearing all week from the staff at the Ritz that Sweet Basil was one of the best restaurants in the area, we had to try it.  We arrived in town a few hours early to allow us time to walk its cobblestone streets, and do a little window shopping.  From the architecture to the gorgeous flower boxes, the entire place feels like you’ve wandered into a small European village.  Even though it was the middle of summer and there was no snow on the ground, I could just picture how beautiful it must be in the winter.  I heard they even have heated streets to keep the paths clear for pedestrians.

After our stroll through town we finally headed to Sweet Basil for dinner.  It was an amazing meal and the perfect way to end our trip to Vail.  Thank you to The Ritz-Carlton for showing us such a spectacular time and to the gracious staff who made our stay unforgettable.
