Palacio Del Inka Hotel — Cusco, Peru

During a trip to Machu Picchu last year we spent several days in the Andean city of Cusco, Peru.  After only a few minutes exploring its ancient streets I fell in love with this enchanting city.  Its hip European vibe blended with ancient New World roots left me longing to return.

Jump forward a year and we were back to stay at the magical Palacio del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel

Upon arrival to the hotel we were quickly welcomed by the gracious staff with a hot cup of coca tea, the local remedy for altitude sickness.  (Traveling to 11,000+ feet above sea level is no cake walk but you slowly acclimate after a day of rest.)  After checking in we were shown to our beautiful suite.  It featured exposed wood beams, hand-painted friezes, authentic antiques, and some delicious treats.  Once we finished gazing at the beautiful room, we got unpacked and head out to roam around this former mansion which dates back five centuries.  While exploring the hotel, the wonderful concierge Beatrice, offered me a watana bracelet for good luck which I wore all through our stay.

Over the next couple posts, I’ll be sharing details from our stay in Cusco and a few of our favorite spots in this truly charming city.  Until then, I shared this outfit post that was shot in the two courtyards of this historic hotel.  It’ll give you another peek at this enchanting resort!
