When Googling San Juan I was in awe of the deliciously vibrant buildings and narrow streets that I saw.  Now that I’ve seen it in person, it was even better.  I wanted to photograph everything, while peaking inside every café, bar, and open door I could find.  Who could resist with these darling buildings?

Old San Juan is a feast for the eyes…

While saying at the beautiful Ritz-Carlton San Juan, we would regularly take an easy 15-20 minute cab ride over to Viejo San Juan.  It’s the oldest settlement within Puerto Rico and known for its historic colonial section.  It’s also home to all those rainbow colored buildings you see in the photographs, featuring shops, historic buildings, museums, cafés, restaurants, charming homes, and tree-shaded plazas.  My favorite part of our trip to Puerto Rico was simply walking around looking at the colorful colonial Spanish architecture while hearing the faint sound of music spilling out from a café or children playing in a courtyard.  It was as magical as these photographs make it out to be, and I can’t wait to plan a trip back to this charming island.  Thanks to many direct flights, and lovely accommodations, Puerto Rico needs to be on your future travel list.
