This past Mother’s Day my mom, gran, and I all took a road trip to New Orleans. They had both been there but this was my first time so I was excited to explore the city with them. I didn’t know what to expect and I was so thankful to everyone at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel for showing us an amazing time.

Right at check in the staff let me know all the places to visit that were within walking distance. Which is A LOT of them because the hotel has one of the BEST locations right in the middle of the French Quarter. From our balcony we could actually see Bourbon Street. And speaking of balconies, our room’s was one of our favorite parts of the trip. We spent so much time up there. It was where we started and ended every day of our trip, whether it was drinking coffee or wine… and some champagne of course! We loved being able to hear the street musicians that played on the corner every night. I felt like I was in a movie!

So if you find yourself planning a trip, definitely check out the Omni and make sure to request a room with a balcony… you won’t be disappointed! And now here’s a little photo diary of our stay…

The highlights of our trip…

Cafe Du Monde is totally cliché… and SO WORTH IT. We went twice!

If you don’t have time to eat at Brennan’s, at least go for dessert. They invented Bananas Foster and will make it for you tableside.

(Beside the places above) Commander’s Palace had to have been my favorite meal in NOLA. The restaurant is gorgeous, the food is delicious (get the shrimp and grits) and they serve 25 cent martinis at lunch. But fair warning, you can only have 3, hah…

Walk around the French Quarter and looking at all the quaint buildings and hanging flowers everywhere. You’ll want to take pictures of everything!
