If you want to talk about something that truly inspires me, I always go back to the 60s.  Swing dresses and bows have been a staple style of mine for years, so when you combine the two I’m totally hooked!   See exhibit A…

I just always come back to the bow detail.  It reminds me of my favorite French ladies, Brigitte Bardot and Catherine Deneuve.  I especially love this photo of Yves Saint Laurent adjusting Catherine’s bow in 1966.  (BTW if you love YSL and documentaries check out L’amour Fou.)

So how do I style this vintage look?  With the warm weather still hanging around, I wear it with my favorite heels, but when it gets cooler I’ll be styling it with over-the-knee boots and a faux leather jacket.  If you like the look but want to go even more girly, then here’s a similar dress in pink.
