So far this week I’ve been showing pictures of our trip to Chicago, but today I’m skipping ahead a bit.  While I grew up skiing and vacationing in Colorado I had never been to Vail before.   Last year we got close and spent a weekend in Tabernash for a friend’s wedding (photos here), where we simply fell in love with Colorado summers.

While winter time in Colorado has its own charm, I think that summer might just be my favorite season there.  For a fashion girl, it’s the best of both worlds.  During the day it’s warm and sunny while at night it’s cold enough to wear some cozy fall pieces.  Oh, and the trails!  I could definitely get used to working out outside in the mountains…

As for my outfit, I wanted something as bright and fun as all the beautiful flowers around us.  This sweater is really as vibrant as the photos suggest, and it’s a that color looks good on everyone.  It might have been too much, but I went for it and tried to match my lipstick — I’m not sure if that’s a fashion faux pas or not… what do you think?  

We all need some color going into fall so I’ve showcased my favorite red sweaters for the upcoming season.  Also most of them are light enough to wear now – bonus!
