The first half of my Scottsdale trip was a whirlwind of tours. It was great fun to go all over the city and see what it had to offer. I still have so much to share with you, but for now I’ll get to the relaxation portion of my trip. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess just happened to be the perfect place to do just that.
This peaceful resort offers two championship golf courses, six restaurants and five outdoor pools, as well as a world class spa. If you know me at all, you can guess where I spent most of my time — the spa! I had a hydrofacial that left me glowing and then spent the rest of the day sipping bubbly and reading by the rooftop pool.
For dinner, I was surprised with a Snake Bite Flight which was a tasting of tequila, sotol and mezcal. (And yes that was a real snake!) The restaurant La Hacienda features over 240 tequilas to sample and even boasts a tequila sommelier. The rest of the dinner featured the most delicious lobster tacos, chicken mole, churros, and a fire show to go with our Mexican coffee. I left the meal completely stuffed! The hotel also includes Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak which I would have loved to have tried if time had permitted.
I’ll be sharing more highlights from the trip coming up this week — but now let’s talk about the outfit. The sun dress I’m wearing is completely affordable and will be perfect going into summer. I think it fit in with the southwest vibe quite perfectly… as did I. I’ve never been a fan of the desert, but honestly I’ve never spent much time near one. I found it to be tranquil and beyond beautiful. This is why I love traveling. You’ll always discover something different about yourself while learning about new places…
