This weekend is basically the *unofficial* end of summer. By the time Labor Day rolls around I’m ready for sweaters, pumpkin bread (not PSL thankyouverymuch) and my trusty leather jacket. I’ve always thought that like a black blazer, a black leather jacket is truly alway in style! And it’s also a really REALLY easy way to transition your summer dresses into the fall season.

The trick to bridging the two seasons is to layer your dress (I love a white dress like I’m wearing here) with a leather jacket. I have a closet full of jackets and come back to them year after year. They’re a must-have for me and I try to work them into as many outfits as possible.

What I like about this particular jacket I’m wearing is that it has embroidered faux-suede star appliqués. (Did you notice them?) You don’t really see them unless you’re up close but they’re a great little detail! And if you’ve been following me for awhile you know that I basically collect leather jackets, and BLANKNYC makes my favorite ones. I have them in real leather and faux and I like both kinds equally!
