When you get Brooke, Lauren and I together you can usually count on a good time. (Ok, let’s be real — we ALWAYS have a blast together.) And during a recent trip to NYC and Montauk we certainly did! We had the best trip!
We spent the first part of our trip staying at the beautiful art deco styled The Evelyn Hotel. The hotel is located in the NoMad area of Manhattan, a few steps away from the Flatiron building which was PERFECT for us — it was easy to walk everywhere! The hotel dates back to 1903 but was then reintroduced in 2018 with an added emphasis on celebrating the hotel’s historic roots.
History of The Evelyn Hotel
The Evelyn Hotel celebrates the heritage of one of NYC’s most historic neighborhoods. In 1903, when our hotel was originally designed by William H. Birkmire, the area known as Tin Pan Alley was the epicenter of the American music industry.

And about the food…
There’s so much good food at the hotel! We started each day at Leonelli Bakery (best cold brew ever!) and finished our day with dinner at the Leonelli Taberna too. Scroll below to see what I recommend ordering from both!
More NYC eats
Since we’re all foodies, we love splurging at our favorite restaurants in NYC. For my birthday we walked to Scarpetta for dinner but first started with drinks at The Seville located below the restaurant. It was one of the BEST nights of our trip! (The pasta at Scarpetta is THE BEST and The Seville has a great lounge vibe with live music.) Another great drink spot is Broken Shaker on top to the Freemont Hotel — I definitely recommend it for happy hour. And I FINALLY tried Joe’s pizza and know why people are obsessed with it…
Where’s the first place you want to eat when you’re in NYC? It’s almost too hard to decide, right? Well next time you’re in the city definitely check out these favorites and let me know yours too!
