Fashion will always be my first love but… travel comes in at a close second. The first time my husband and I met we immediately connected over our love of travel. It’s something I feel so lucky to do and I can’t wait to share my most recent trip. It was my biggest and best yet!
Planning a trip that includes 3 countries in 2 weeks as a fashion blogger is pretty involved. I need to have outfits for every occasion and most days that means multiple changes. Somedays I’ll have to be dressed up for meetings or parties but the rest of the time I’m usually more casual while I’m exploring the city or scouting out spots to photograph outfits.
Today’s outfit for instance was comfortable, casual, and warm. (Especially this shearling moto jacket — so cozy!) Which was important because little did I know we would be walking almost 5 miles! But it was so worth it.
To begin the trip, our itinerary started in Paris, then on to Morocco, and we ended in Munich where we stayed with friends. They were so kind to show us around the city during our stay and enjoy true German hospitality. It was only my second time in Germany, the first was on during our honeymoon 5 years ago. Munich was just as beautiful as I remembered it, but on this day we were focused on the surrounding countryside…
Monastery Andechs (and brewery)
A short train ride outside of Munich is a the Andechs Abbey with its picturesque hillside beer garden. Overlooking a small village it is the perfect excursion outside the city to enjoy some lovely countryside. You can drive or “hike” up to it like we did which I suggest but come prepared for the over 2 mile walk from the train station. It was a great way to work up an appetite for some traditional German food and beer when you reach the top. And then you get to work it off on the walk back!
Shearling Moto Jacket
As for my outfit, this Rebecca Minkoff Julien backpack was such an ESSENTIAL during our trip. I loved that I could fit my camera, makeup, and brush in it for our outing. Along with an extra top too if I wanted to change. And this faux shearling moto jacket was perfect for keeping me warm during our stay in Munich. (Style note — If you love it, GET IT NOW. It’s sold out at 3 other stores, but you can still find it in all sizes here.)
Have you been to Germany? Where’s your favorite place to travel to?
