Last weekend, my husband, Gran and I went on a mini road trip. Sometimes I get in a blogging rut and lately that’s been going on. While I never run out of outfit ideas, I do sometimes get bored. Which happens to all of us, of course.
That’s when you need to shake it up
Tomorrow I’ll be posting about how to get out of a blogging (or life) funk. For me it involves getting out of the house! I’m definitely a person who can bury myself in my work. So it’s important for me to get out and go someplace new. That doesn’t mean hopping on a plane, it means simply trying a new restaurant, going to a new shop, or even driving to a different city.
If it’s a small road trip or long plane ride, this Zac Posen Eartha Satchel is the perfect travel bag.
So last weekend we jumped in the car and went searching for sunflowers. Even though Instagram can be completely frustrating (algorithm changes, etc.) it can also be AMAZING for inspiration. While scanning it last week I saw a video of a field of sunflowers in Oklahoma, so we went off on a road trip to find them
Our road trip ended up taking us through the small town of Guthrie. I had not been there since I was little! I was so surprised it was now home to an amazing coffee shop and a darling downtown. I found out they actually shoot a lot of movies in the downtown area and I can see why. Can you believe these pictures were taken there? It looked like a brownstone in the city but in reality it was the back of a building. Discovering this made me remember why I love what I do! It’s so fun to discover spots like this in places you would never guess.
And about this corset denim dress…
I’ve been on such a denim kick lately and love how this denim dress instantly give you a little waist! I adore the vintage looking details from the corset waistline to the puffy sleeves. And it’s still available in all sizes. It will be such a great little dress for going into fall.
So do you love a road trip too?
