Before the madness of the holidays, my husband and I wanted to plan a relaxing Oklahoma City staycation at one of our favorite places. 21c Oklahoma City is such a special place for us. You’ll often find us at Mary Eddy’s having a drink or eating dinner and then wandering around the museum afterwards. Being an art lover, my favorite feature of the hotel is that you can view at the art at any time of day. There’s really no other hotel like it! Plus, it’s so amazing to have it right here in my home state. (For more background on the museum and the hotel see our last staycation here.)
On this visit we began our staycation by checking in and immediately heading to Mary Eddy’s for dinner. Our meal began with the Toolbox which is their take on a charcuterie board with locally made cheese and in-house cured meats, pickles and stoneground mustard. I’m not a big meat eater so Ricardo had to do most of the heavy lifting on this one, which he didn’t mind at all. My favorite was the Crispy Brussels with feta and burnt/caramelized agave (sooo good) and the Octopus Lettuce Wraps, which according to my husband was the star of the evening. I’m the first to admit that I’m not a huge fan of octopus but I actually really liked them.
As for our main course, we ordered Porcini Tagliatelle and a Roasted Chicken with dumplings. We were then surprised by the kitchen with Mac and Cheese with ritz cracker crumbs (a must-try). We ended our meal with a whimsical after-dinner drink they call the PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte). Even though I’m not a big fan of the coffee version this caffeine-inspired cocktail really surprised me. It’s a seasonal creation so give it a try before it’s off the menu!
After such a spectacular dinner feast I must give a big THANK YOU to executive chef Jason Campbell and his team for treating + feeding us so well! It was the perfect way to start our staycation at 21c! *Spoiler, the following morning’s brunch turned out just as wonderful!
The next day we threw on our robes and went straight to the spa for a couples massage… which I promptly passed out during. I pretty much got up just to go right back to sleep — which was just what we wanted. After our massage we sat in the steam room for a bit. I’m kind of obsessed with steam rooms. (One of my dreams in life is to have a steam shower… someday it will be mine!)

To end our stay on a tasty note, it was back to Mary Eddy’s for a delicious brunch. You MUST get the oatmeal (seriously it’s the best I’ve ever had — made with candied peanuts and strawberry-thyme jam) plus the pork chili verde, the housemade nutella waffles with mint, and finish with the apple fitters. Yes, we tried all of that. It was for research purposes, right? At least that’s what we told ourselves.
This season if you need a quick getaway from the holiday madness or a place for family to stay, 21c is such a fun change from the usual hotel stay. This totally Instagrammable hotel is obviously one of my favorites and I’m so excited that they are offering all my readers a discounted rate starting at $121 with the code WONDERLAND. It’s the perfect excuse for a romantic night away, girls night out, or a place to stay when extra family comes into town. Book your stay here!
Have any questions about staying at 21c? Message me and I would be happy to answer them! Also be sure to check out my stay at the 21c Bentonville location. It’s a short drive from OKC and such a fun little getaway.
