I’m so excited to finally bring you my La Playa Carmel resort review today!

I’m lucky to be able to do quite a bit of traveling.  Besides playing with clothes all day, travel is the other favorite part of my job.  I’ve been to several parts of California over the years but it’s kind of funny that the past 6 months I’ve found myself in Santa Barbara, LA, Napa, and most recently Carmel-by-the-Sea.  I had heard about Carmel-by-the-Sea before but didn’t know anything about it… until now.  And I can now say I love it and I’m so ready to pack up and move there!  It’s just the most charming little city with the most beautiful weather.  (I mean, it has a high of 65 degrees all year long.  Hello, year round sweater weather!) 

Now that you know my new favorite city, I’m going to share with you where to stay and what to check out!  Since I’m a big fan of walking everywhere I was so happy to hear about La Playa Carmel.  This resort started as a mansion built in 1905 for a member of the Ghirardelli family.  It’s been recently restored without losing any of its charm.  It’s steps away not only from all the shops, art galleries, and restaurants but also the ocean.  We had an amazing view of the beautiful blue Pacific Ocean from our room.  (I’ll share ocean pics later this week!)

I loved starting out the day with their delicious Champagne Breakfast Buffet served in the Library, then looking forward to a wine tasting later in day, and ending the night with cookies and milk.  Doesn’t that sound like the perfect day?  Also the friendly staff was just so lovely and helpful with restaurant recommendations and ideas for what to do in town.  I loved that hotel felt more like you were staying in someone’s home and it happen to be huge and over 100 years old!

My favorite part about staying there, besides cookies, was walking around the neighborhood it’s located in.  It’s just so charming!  When I mention Carmel-by-the-Sea that’s one word I just can’t stop using — it’s just the definition of CHARMING.  With flowers and picket fences everywhere it was like a fairy tale but with wine tastings, haha.

It’s going to take me awhile to show you all the cuteness, so today I’ll just show you around the resort will more photos coming up tomorrow…
