Styling shorts can be tricky.  I was actually anti-shorts until a couple years ago.  Maybe the heat finally got to me, or I saw all the cute possibilities.  For me the key is that you need to make the proportions work.  So if you’re wearing short shorts then make your top a long sleeve like this one from Free People.   Bare your legs or your arms, not both!  (Unless it’s over 100 degrees — then all bets are off.)

This shirt is perfect for work and play.   While I styled it on this day with shorts for a meeting, I might pair it with skinny cropped pants or tucked into wide leg denim for a 70s inspired look.  You’ll definitely be seeing it this fall so get ahead of the trend and wear it now!
