I love a capsule collection.  For me, a really good capsule collection includes surprises and unexpected detailing, like this one from the Express Edition Collection.  Way back in April I got a sneak preview and fell hard for the luxe fabrics, silk ruffles, and vintage-inspired touches.

What really caught my eye was this lingerie-inspired dress…

How beautiful is the black silk dress, and isn’t the back just gorgeous?!  I just love the white lace detailing that peeks out under this dress.  While I didn’t plan on wearing this white boyfriend blazer, the temperature dropped almost 20 degrees as a storm blew in while taking these photos.  It went from sunny to pitch black in 10 minutes, which is pretty normal around here and is why I tend to dress in layers.  You never know what’s going to happen!  Luckily this blazer pairs perfectly with the dress, and it will also be one of my staple pieces this fall.  I love how it goes with everything from a tee and jeans to a dress like this one.
