Why Peru, you might ask…
Last Thursday we arrived in Peru. I don’t talk much about my personal life, frankly I would rather discuss shoes, but in order to explain why I’m in South America I must! My husband is half-Peruvian and it’s where his father was born. My first trip to Peru was only after 4 months of dating, which I know looking back on seems crazy. The trip was to celebrate the wedding of close family friends and I fell in love with the people, the culture, and the food.
I have been back several times since then. On this trip we’ll be going to three other cities but we’re starting first with the beach. Our family has a beach house about an hour south of Lima (the capital city). If you notice on my Instagram the Mediterranean looking architecture, beach, or giant rocks, that is in the resort community. These were taken on the patio which faces a natural lagoon. Unfortunately because we’re far south of Lima the internet signal is terrible so I’ll share more photos of the area later.
But on to more important topics like this outfit…
Our first night out dining I couldn’t wait to wear this black and white dress from Shopbop! I love its graphic print and knew that it would be perfect with these bright red shoes. When I return home I’ll be pairing it with a moto leather jacket and tights, and I must mention it’s extremely affordable.
More of our adventure will be coming up this week!
Tomorrow we’re off to Cusco, be sure to follow along on my Instagram and Facebook.
