A life update + treating my post-pregnancy hair

What a rollercoaster! Even though it’s 2021 it still feels like 2020. If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know that we have been dealing with some crazy weather (like most of you). Can you believe we went from -14 to 71 degrees in a WEEK?!? It was that crazy! As we go into spring, I expect SOME temperature swings but not an 85-degree difference. Those temperatures can wreak havoc on your hair… and water pipes. So today I’m going to talk a little bit about both and how our little world was turned upside down for a week.

We are so glad to have our water back!

What happened last week?

Before I share a new beauty product find with you, I have to share some real life stuff. I swear it’s been one thing after another over here! We were warned that a huge snowstorm was coming and prepared accordingly. We stocked up on food and dripped our faucets, but our home couldn’t take those crazy negative temperatures. We actually reached -14 degrees! Which may not be a big deal to those of you up north but to us it is! Our homes just aren’t built for it. Last Monday morning we woke up to no water… and that lasted 8 days. Unlike many, we were SO fortunate to have never lost power and had plenty of bottled water. (And we took showers, did baby laundry, and dishes at my in-laws who live close by.) Things could have been MUCH worse, and we are grateful that the storm only cost us two tankless hot water heaters and our water filtration system but nothing more serious… my heart just breaks for those of you in Texas who had it so much worse!

Now to more fun stuff… self-care for your hair!

Being a new mom is stressful. (And not just when you’re dealing with crazy weather!) Post pregnancy my hair and skin has gone through so many changes. Like being oily and then dry all in the same week! Add the crazy back and forth weather and I’m in some serious need of hydrating haircare. I’ve been using Pantene Nutrient Blends Hydrating Glow Shampoo and Conditioner to pamper my poorly treated hair.

If this experience has taught me anything it’s that you must plan for everything and learn to roll with the punches. (Like when you lose your water, you can still melt snow to flush your toilets… I can’t believe I just typed that!!) But that’s also motherhood for ya, a bunch of things you never thought you would say or do. But it’s so worth it!

Just remember to pamper yourself and your hair along the way
