There are certain essential pieces every wardrobe needs — the little black dress, the perfect jeans, and a fitted leather jacket.  Normally, I would go for a jacket in black or brown but this season I’m loving the richness of oxblood.  I know the color might be sooo last season, but I won’t be wearing Pantone’s new color of the year.  I’m sorry but no one looks good in mauve.

But back to the jacket!

The fit of it is incredible.  Once I zipped up I felt like a biker babe or a women on a secret mission. I decided to wear it with a leather skirt as a take on a modern leather suit.  It felt put together yet defiant.  I was channeling Tippi Hedren in the classic film Marnie — a sharp little suit to distract from the stolen cash in my bag.
