I tend to stay away from anything glittery.  Then something funny happened — I fell in love with a bright gold sparkly clutch.  It reminded me of one of those groovy lucite clutches you would see starlets carrying back in the 60s.  When this little gem showed up at my doorstep I was immediately in love!  Turns out every girl does need a little glitter in her life.
