My Week with Marilyn ~ a fashion post

Sometimes there’s nothing like staying in and watching a good movie.  Sadly this past Saturday, I was fighting off some kind of bug so my day of movie watching was completely by default.  Between naps I watched Grey Gardens, My Week With Marilyn, and the classic Annie Hall.  The first and last movies I’ve watch many times, but the one about Marilyn was new to me.  I was blown away by Michelle Williams performance.   Previously I thought she was entirely too thin and waif-like to portray the curvy Miss Monroe.  Oh how I was wrong…

She enveloped the character — truly becoming Marilyn.  From the wiggle to the giggle, she did an amazing job.  Even if you’re not a Monroe fan you will still enjoy this film.  Being obsessed with vintage clothing, I especially loved seeing all the costumes.

Of course in my head I had to recreate her outfits…

A simple skirt and button-down top is classic and timeless.  This look works for every woman.  Who wants to be a modern Marilyn?

Have you watched My Week with Marilyn?
