I have always wanted to go to a ball.

Doesn't it sound like fun?  You dress up, you drink, you dance.  What else is there in life, right?  Please don't answer that…

Back to the dress up part.  

I found this beautiful cobalt blue Nicole Miller dress at Tootsies in Dallas.*

(*Please try to ignore the necklace and my I have a cold and no makeup face.)

I love how simple it is.  

I think after the ball I'm going to have it hemmed above the knee, so it will be less formal and I can wear it again.

Now with the dress in hand I must work on the accessories.  

First up – shoes!

I tend to wear a lot of gold, but with this dress I really wanted silver/gunmetal accessories.  I usually don't like anything really sparkly (except diamonds of course) but I'm really leaning towards the Brian Atwood pair.

Speaking of diamonds, what about the jewels?

Honestly I have a coat similar to this.  And if I'm even MORE honest with myself, it's the color that I'm drawn to.  My monochromatic-black-wearing-self is trying to branch out and get into the rainbow.

This bag is the same color and has a little tie detail (like the coat) that I just adore.
