J. Crew Fall 2011 Preview

My preppy little heart is completely in lust for everything in this preview…

J Crew 2011 preview look #9

…OK, not EVERYTHING.

(What in neon yellow Amish hell is that?!?)

Alrighty Dolls, let's rip this preview apart, shall we???

Jcrew fall 2011

 I need those pants.

Jcrew fall 2011 2

I've been looking everywhere for bright pants!  These have my name on them…

Jcrew fall 2011 3

Not too sure about that sequin dropped-waist number in the back, but I'll take the first two looks.

Jcrew fall 2011 4

YUCK!  I despise that yellow mess in the background!

Jcrew fall 2011 5

I'm so in love with the cape and pink heels.  I can only hope they don't jack up the price on the cape like they have on their past items…

Jcrew fall 2011 6

Not too thrilled about the outfits, but I love the color palette.

Jcrew fall 7

Pretty sure my Mom had a dress out of those horrible patterned pants.  I'll take the classic trench and leopard heels.

Jcrew fall 8

A military inspired jacket, heck ya!  I would wear this entire look.  Moving on…

Jcrew fall 2011 9

I think this would look better with heels.

Jcrew fall 2011 10

Overall really digging the semi-nasty 70s colors.

Jcrew fall 2011 11

 I NEED THIS BAG!

Jcrew fall 2011 12

Love the purple and the green, but this drop-crotch pant HAS GOT TO GO AWAY!

Jcrew fall 2011 13

 Digging the accessories…

Jcrew fall 2011 14

Si, si…

Jcrew fall 2011 15

 Mixing of patterns is good.

Jcrew fall 2011 16

The chick on the right is saying, "That stupid ho, took my outfit!"  I would be mad, too…

Loving her mix of stripes and leopard.

Jcrew fall 2011 17

Needing the red number in the back.

Oh, and ps. J. Crew, you TOTALLY stole those striped leggings from Obesity and Speed.

Just sayin'.

heavy cargo

Cargo pants were all over the runways of the Fall 2010 shows.

Here are a few of my favorites…

Army pant collage

Clockwise from top left:

Topshop utility pant $80, Rich and Skinny "make peace" cargo $185,  AE Cargo Jegging $39.90 (down from $59.50),  Free People "Benjis" cargo pant $98,  J Brand "Houlihan" twill cargo $231,  Bland Denim cargo skinny pant $78,  Forever 21 Pull-On Ruched Utility Pants $22.80, Nanette Lepore  "Piazza" pants $298

In the center:

J. Crew Cropped ripstop cargo pant $69.50

How to wear this season's cargo pant.

   1) I would stick with olive or any other dark color.  Lighter colors will make your legs look thicker than they are especially with the pockets.

2)  Experiment with textures to dress up these pants.  A silk blouse or a leather jacket will give them an uptown look.

3)  Pair these pants with heels.  Otherwise they can come off as too masculinee.

I bought the Forever 21 pants.  This was my first purchase from this store and I was pleasantly surprised!  Great quality, and it laundered well.  Looks like I may have a new go-to for trendy inexpensive pieces.

Fall is upon us!!!  After what seemed like the longest summer in
history, finally the cooler temps have returned.  And cooler air calls for more clothing.  The jacket, the blazer, the coat… all
standard fall attire, but I'm ready to shake things up.

Let's start with a cape!
