I'll admit it… I like furs.
As a child I remember being on a ski trip snuggled in the back of our Suburban under my grandmother's mink. I still remember how soft and warm it was under her coat. What I didn't know was that mink was made out of "minks." When I found out, I freaked out! Just like the day I found out beef came from a cow and almost started crying at the dinner table! I even became a vegetarian for a short while but had to stop because I would get lightheaded.
But still I longed for the softness and warmth of that beautiful mink… So, I found a compromise! (Step away from the spray cans, PETA!) I would continue to wear fur, but only if it was vintage! The lovely Dita Von Teese shares the same philosophy as I do. She too loves fur but loves animals, so she has pledged only to wear vintage fur.
