Summer is upon us.
Or, it will be officially upon us on the 21st. Where I live the temperatures have already reached 100. And that means summer! I'm not exactly what you'd call a summer girl. I LOVE spring and fall — especially the fashions for those seasons. When the temperatures start reaching the triple digits, I'm ready for the cool, crisp breeze of fall.
But fall is far away right now. Since it's summertime, I'm going to take a minute to chat about my favorite summer things. And since I live in WONDERLAND, I'll be using some words you may not be familiar with… just consider this a WONDERLAND vocab lesson:
Vaycay : another word for "vacation" – also see the phrase dream on
Aaaaah yes vaycay… I live to be on vaycay.
Many people have told me I need to take a permanent vacation. But I think they meant that in a nice way. Summertime is vaycay time — the little brats are out of school and are ready to travel. And so am I, dang it!

The Lake: an OK/TX tradition. A large water mass usually in the middle of nowhere. Many drunken and crazy times take place at "the lake", ie., "Dude, I was so hammered last time we were at the lake…"
The best place to get away for a quick vaycay. Thank you, Miss J, for always letting me crash with your fam!!!

Drinking outside (it may be Starbucks or the alcoholic variety) is one of my favorite summer pastimes. Those great lazy summer afternoons where you just lie around a pool with any iced drink in hand. And speaking of drinking in the afternoon, this reminds me of one of my favorite Absolutely Fabulous phrases: the liquid lunch.
"Not eating, Patsy?"

Bathtub. Magazine. Polish.
2 minutes.

My favorite polish of the moment is MAC Give Me Liberty of London's Vestral White. It looks a bit like White-Out but when it's perfectly painted on my toes I just LOVE it!
