Hello, my name is Ally and I'm a bath-aholic. I binge on bubbles every day!
Some may find bathing boring… not me! While lounging in the tub full of bubbles I read, watch movies/tv, write, draw, use the computer or the phone (this is not advised) and eat.
The most decadent thing to do is to draw a hot bubble bath, pour a glass of bubbly, and RELAX after a long day!
If you're feeling extra decadent, add a box of chocolates — just like Miss Blair Waldorf did on Gossip Girl.
In my own bathroom, I have noticed lately that I'm literally swimming in bath products! I'm a bath junkie, what can I say…
Bath salts, bubble bath, bath foam, bath wash, bath oil… the list goes on and on!
I think I need to start narrowing down my favorites.
They are as follows…
Fresh Sugar Bath Cubes, Lychee $34
Described as: "A soothing, rejuvenating remedy for dry and irritated skin.
Real brown sugar restricts the nutrients necessary in bacterial growth while also making the water extremely soft. The process of bathing in sugar is enhanced by a natural base of bicarbonate of soda, which also adds effervescent massaging bubbles that are superb for removing dead skin cells."
All I know is it smells divine!
Philosophy's The Gingerbread Man, $25
Described as: "a body scrub that smooths out rough spots and evokes a warm sense of holiday joy with a tingly ginger scent. Perfect for the shower or tub, it heats up as you rub, and features sea salt and natural extracts to exfoliate, polish, and condition dry skin."
This product is amazing — it smells heavenly and softens the skin. Yes, please!
Home Health, Almond Glow, $8.99
Described as: "The rich, natural oils that make Almond Glow a delightful moisturizing lotion for all-over skin care also make it an excellent massage oil."
Pour this into your bath to help moisturize. After bathing you can use it directly on your skin. Best of all, the smell reminds me of a sugar cookie. YUM!
Village Natural Bath Shoppe, $5.99
Described as being: "Infused with an aromatic blend of lavender and chamomile to calm, relax and restore. Enriched with shea butter and milk protein, our rich, luxurious formula will fill your tub with mountains of bubbles and leave your skin feeling soft & nourished."
I love this product because it's cheap and it delivers. The bubbles are moisturizing and long-lasting… plus you can buy this at any Walmart, Target, or convenient store.
Dr. Singha's Mustard Bath, $8.99
Described as: "renowned for its stimulating, rejuvenating and cleansing qualities and may be helpful with stress, muscle and joint soreness, congestion, skin conditions, tension, sleeplessness and is supportive during a cleansing program."
I bought this at the health food store when I thought I was getting a cold. The first time you use it is very strange — you can actually feel your pores opening up. It's VERY relaxing, and it's suggested that you soak in the tub for 20 minutes and then take a cold shower. Let's just say I never made it to the shower part… I almost passed out when getting out of the tub! I immediately crawled into bed and fell asleep.
Needless to say, it may have the placebo effect, but this product worked for me. I felt energized the next day! I still use it from time to time if I'm feeling under the weather or feel like I need a bit of a detox after a celebratory weekend.
Please take some time to relax and enjoy these products!
And don't forget to light some candles…
And play some music…
And read…
Or watch a movie…
(this list could go on and on)
ENJOY!*
