Rodarte for Target / The ninth day of Christmas

Sorry, Dolls… I know I have gotten VERY behind on the 12 days of Christmas, but Rodarte has arrived at Tar-jay!!! WOOHOO!!!!
I had to get my bum over to Target and spend time trying on everything and grabbing all the sizes I could for my girls!

I'll admit it's a bit out there but the stand out piece has definitely been the leopard print lace dress. Dakota Fanning rocked the lace dress in Teen Vogue…

But, the Dress du Jour has got to be the sequin ribcage dress!

The Rodarte sisters know how to design fashion with a sense of humor! But what the heck, are those Doc Martens I see… Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

And this post wouldn't be completely without me singing…

The gilded age

I tend to have problems with wearing gold clothing. I just don't know how to handle it, and in the wrong hands it can look tacky and cheap.

I must also mention my fear of gold purses. It all began back in the 80s, when I would be forced to stay with my country grandparents. You know what I'm talking about… ones that enjoy things like polka music, square dancing, and dominos.
Anywoooo, I still remember the gold mesh purse my grandmother would carry. She would wear head-to-toe denim with matching gold accents and carry her gold mesh purse. To this day I'm afraid of the gold mesh purse. I was only about 7 at the time and I knew it was wrong. It made sounds that a handbag just shouldn't make! I was always concerned that we were being followed through Walmart by a medieval knight. Chang, chang, chang, with every step taken. It looked very similar to this one below, but hers was all gold.

Aaaah!

Through my therapist and psychiatric meds I have managed to find a couple of gold outfits that I actually really do like. I'm going to continue working on my gold phobia since I don't see this trend going away anytime soon. After all, admitting you have a problem is the first step!
