I am the walrus

"I am the eggman, oh, they are the eggman
Oh, I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob"

No one knows how to write a good old-fashioned trippy song like the Beatles.  And no one makes you think of small round glasses more than John Lennon.

Then you've got these two…

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the Olsen sisters.  I buy their clothes (Elizabeth and James NOT Walmart) and I generally like their style.  But, sometimes I think they get bored and like to plot ways to get attention.

So when the girls were getting ready for the Met Gala I believe this is what they watched…

… and I believe this was their conversation.

"Hey, twin.

Yes, twin?

I'm bored.

I'm bored too.

Let's wear something ugly tonight.

No, we always wear something ugly…  Hey, this video is trippy, and it's totally influencing my style right now.  I'm thinking we should wear tie-dye.

Uh, like no.  This is so typical of you, MK, you dirty rich hippie.  How about we just dress like old ladies, like we usually do, but this time we'll wear matching John Lennon glasses so that you can be who YOU are.

Don't you mean, who WE are?

Whatever, twin…"

If you'd like to hop on the round-glass bandwagon please click below.

I'll take the bottom center pair, thanks!

And for a brief history of this cardi…

Back in the 90s during a trip to Hawaii with my fam and my friend Ellen, we went to Ala Moana (http://www.alamoanacenter.com/) for an afternoon.  While there, I found the perfect outfit for my upcoming high school Christmas dance:  a sparkly dress and the feathered cardigan.  My mum bought the outfit, and then our group split up.  Ellen and I decided to do some more shopping, and Mummy and Gran went to the food court with my fabulous outfit.

Well, little did I know…they ended up forgetting my loot at a table in the food court!  They went off to do some shopping of their own, and after awhile Mum realized that she had forgotten the goods!  Panic set in as she and Gran raced back to where they had sat, but of course it was gone.

But I didn't know about this, because when we went back to the hotel my outfit was there.  I found out much later that my loving Gran had felt so bad about the mishap that she went back to NM and bought an identical outfit.  Then my mum felt bad about Gran doing that, so she called the security office at the mall one last time to see if they possibly had it.  She was shocked when they told her that some Good Samaritan had turned it in to them!

Soooooo, while Ellen and I were having fun at the beach, Gran and Mum went back to Ala Moana and picked up the original outfit from Security and then they returned the second outfit!

Wow… HELLOOOOO 1998…

Elie Tahari silk cardigan with ostrich feathers, Andrea Polizzi for Rex Lester dress, Via Spiga heels (which I just started wearing again!)

That's the story of my favorite feathers and the reason I can NEVER get rid of this cardi.

On the twelfth day of Christmas

My true love gave to meeeeeeee,

The perfect LBD from Elizabeth and James!!!!!!

How amazing is this dress???  The back has a low v-neck with exposed zipper – simply stunning!  This dress makes me want to throw a dinner party while listening to Sinatra.

Mood – Merry!
