New Year’s Eve – chill edition

Decisions, Decisions…

New Year's Eve is coming up and I can't decide what to wear.  My plans are anywhere from a casual party with friends to a rock concert, so I need my outfit to work for both.  So far I'm loving both of theses looks.

Look #1

The easiest choice.  I have the ring and the pants and I really really really (did I say really?) want that darling top!  And the Prada heels are nice too…

Look #2

I like this sequin top too.  Instead of having a scoop in the back like the top in look #1, it has a v-shape back.  Luckily, I have the pants and shoes for this look… so my decision is going to be based on do I like black or gold sequins.

I think I'm leaning towards the gold…

What do you Dolls, think?

“I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes”

I've spent $40,000 on shoes and I have no place to live? I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!

Soooo it would be safe to assume that Carrie and I share the same obsession.  But I don't have $40K to blow on shoes like she did.  How do I feed my need for fashion and not live in a shoe box?

Sales. Sales. And more sales.

Let's break this down…

Sadly for designers the economy has crushed the fashion industry.  With poor sales looming, designers are forced to heavily discount their goods.  And voila, sales of 50, 60 and 75 percent off can be found at your favorite stores.  In addition, "invitation only" sales have started to crop up.

Here are a few of my favorite invitation-only sales – just click on the links for an invite.*

My personal favorite is Gilt.com, I get tons of great deals from them and they have everything: women's, men's, children's, accessories, shoes, makeup, home decor, wine, and even vacations!

*Time for the fine print… I receive credit for everyone that buys something from theses sales.  After you sign up and you recommend a friend to join and they make a purchase you will receive credit too!  Most of these "credit"  will give you a one time only discount of $25.  Basically it a win/win situation for everyone.  As Martha Stewart would say, "it's a good thing."

Still need convincing it's not a scam (I was suspicious too) check out this Forbes article…

pace is the trick

My dear friend asked me to find some
riding/flat boots on sale for her.

I
tried.

I failed.

There are NOOOO cute boots on sale right
now.  So the next best thing would be finding new fabulous pre-fall
boots.

My apologies to your
checkbook… this might hurt a bit.

I just adore these Guccis.  They
would look great with my vintage Gucci purses.

Gucci bootSwoon…

Here's another perfect choice for the
label connoisseur.

Prada boot

These Pradas are
the perfect black riding boot.

Frye has always been known for making
great boots.  They been making them since 1863!

The "shirley"
style is the quintessential riding boot.  The price is a bit steep
($648) but these are defiantly a good investment.

Or, for half the price opt
for a pair without the pony hair.

Frye brown boot

Also
great in brown.

Now, what can we find in the Affordable
Department?

These Apepazzo
Cagliari
are a great inexpensive choice.

Apepazzo

($165)

The prize
for most inexpensive flat boot goes to the brand BP.

BP boot

Just
ignore the name.  There won't be any oil spills taking place in these
boots!  And best of all, they're only $69.

Now, drumroll, please…

The Must-Have Boot Award goes to Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Marc boot

They look
like your normal black boot… until you check out the back.

Marc boot3

UM, completely insane, right?!?!  The
eyelet
detail completely makes these boots.  Plus, you can fold them over for a
different look…

Marc boot2

LOVE THEM.
WANT THEM. NEED THEM.

I know I
always talk about how much I love my heels, but sometimes my feet need a
rest.  It gets hard running around in 5 inches all the time, and
sometimes I need flats so I can "keep up the pace."
